This is the seal and bearing housing, located at the top portion of the lower unit just under the water pump... containing seals for the lower unit and the main support bearing for the driveshaft.
In checking my books, I find this housing to fit at least the:
1981 - 50hp - 55hp - 60hp
1981 Through 1983 - 55hp
&
1988 Through 1989 - 45hp and 55hp
It is a brand new, guaranteed New Bearing Housing
